Account and data deletion

Delete your Fish Agent account and cloud data.

You can delete your account yourself in the app, in seconds — or request deletion by email if you can no longer sign in. This page explains both routes and exactly what is removed. Fish Agent is published by Gregor Sirca.

Fastest Way: Delete Your Account in the App

You do not need to email us or wait. If you can still sign in to Fish Agent on your phone, you can delete your account and all associated cloud data yourself, immediately:

  1. Open Fish Agent and go to the Profile screen while signed in.
  2. Scroll to the Delete account section, below Sign out.
  3. Tap Delete account and confirm once in the dialog.

Confirming permanently deletes your account and all associated cloud data — sessions, catches, photos, GPS routes, saved spots, consents, and settings — and signs you out. The account is deleted outright rather than deactivated. No email, phone call, or website visit is needed.

Alternative: Request Deletion by Email

Use this route if you can no longer sign in — for example you lost the device or the account is inaccessible. Send an email to gregorsirca@gmail.com with the subject Fish Agent account deletion request.

  1. Include the email address used to sign in to Fish Agent (your Google account, or the address associated with Sign in with Apple).
  2. State clearly that you want your Fish Agent account deleted.
  3. Watch for a confirmation reply if ownership verification is needed.

We may reply to confirm the request or verify account ownership before deleting cloud account data.

Data Deleted

When your Fish Agent account deletion request is confirmed, we will delete or anonymize cloud data associated with your Fish Agent account, including:

AccountProfile data and sign-in identity links (Google or Apple) stored by the Fish Agent API.
JournalCloud-synced sessions, session route track points, catches, gear, notes, and environmental snapshots.
PhotosCloud-synced catch photos or compressed photo copies, where stored.
AI and SettingsAI fish-identification attempts, weather-analysis attempts or observations, suggestions, settings, and consent records linked to your account.

Data Kept

Some data may be kept for a limited time where required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, service integrity, backup recovery, or abuse investigation. This may include:

  • Security, audit, and server logs.
  • Records needed to prove that a deletion request was handled.
  • Data that has been fully anonymized and can no longer identify you.
  • Data that must be retained to comply with law or valid legal requests.

Retention Period

Confirmed account deletion requests are normally processed within 30 days. Backup copies and security logs may remain for up to 90 days before they are removed or overwritten, unless a longer retention period is required for legal, security, or abuse-prevention reasons.

Subscriptions

Deleting your Fish Agent account does not automatically cancel an active Google Play subscription. To cancel a subscription, go to Google Play → Subscriptions and cancel it there. Subscription purchase records held by Google are governed by Google's own policies and are not removed by Fish Agent's account deletion process. Fish Agent does not sell subscriptions on iPhone, so there is nothing to cancel there.

Local Device Data

Account deletion removes cloud account data controlled by Fish Agent. It does not automatically remove data stored only on your device. To remove local-only data, use the app privacy/local wipe controls if available, clear the app data from Android settings, or uninstall the app. On iPhone, deleting the app removes its local data.
